This is another item that has been flying off the shelves at stores and constantly out of stock online.
What are you supposed to do when you go out to the store and you’re needing to sanitize your hands to prevent the spread of germs? What other options do you have?
Here’s a simple tip to get you germ free on the go.
- Get a disposable sandwich bag and a washcloth or a paper towel that you’ve folded up.
- Saturate the cloth with soap and water and put it into the bag and seal it up. Label this bag ‘Soap’.
- Saturate another cloth with water only, and put that into a separate bag. Label this bag ‘Water’.
When you’re finished in the store and you come back to your car, you can easily sanitize your hands with homemade Soap & Water bags.
- Grab one of the bags you put together with the soap, take out the cloth inside, put the disposable bag into a separate bag, to be either disposed of or washed.
- Sanitize your hand with the soapy cloth, throw it in the ‘dispose or wash bag’ and then rinse your hands with the ‘water’ only cloth.
It may not be as convenient as hand sanitizer, but at least you have soap on your hands and you can kill the germs.
We’re trying to help you think outside the box a little and give you options if you can’t get your hands on some sanitizer.
That’s what this “Making the Most of It” series is all about: trying to think of other ways we can use items we can’t easily find anymore so that we don’t feel a sense of panic when we go out in public and can’t find the items we are used to buying without issues.
We hope this was helpful and if you have any additional suggestions or tips of your own, leave those in the comments.
We’d love to work together to come up with new ways to work with what we’ve got on hand at home.
